Saysandra—ninja twitter gal?

So, saysandra, or should I say Sandra Der, has been at it again….sort of.  The ‘self-styled “ninja twitter gal”’ wrote a second post about how another Co-op has a similar homecare model and is unionized.  It’s true.  Abby Road Co-op does indeed have a unionized homecare program.  So what?  She says, “Yes, it can work.”  Again I say, so what?  If it is working, and I have heard differently, good for them.  But just because a union may work successfully in one place, does not mean it will work successfully here at Artspace.  The AUPE locked out SAIL workers are demanding way more than AHS is providing. NOTE: in her latest blog, saysandra included a link to the collective agreement between Abby Road Homecare and CUPE.  It includes the pay grade.  The highest wage that a “Support Service Worker” can earn is $19.23/hr.  That is lower than the $19.50 the SAIL homecare workers were making.  Hmmm. Maybe we should join CUPE and save money!  However, the SAIL Board cannot give what it does not have.  @saysandra says: “Thing that floors me is SAIL hasn’t been audited for 7 years. They accept $$ without AHS auditing.”  NEWS FLASH saysandra, AHS is not responsible for auditing SAIL’s books.  SAIL is.  And as for those seven years, the Board took immediate steps to remedy that situation as soon as they were aware of it, and has never withheld any information from the AUPE.  Also, no audit does not mean no books were kept, that they were not seen by an accountant, or that AHS was in ignorance of SAIL's finances.  They would not provide funding without knowing where the money was going.

Saysandra says in her recent blog: “The previous post has been altered to fix some inaccuracies.” So I went back to that post and re-read it.  If she indeed fixed any inaccuracies, they must be really minor ones because the post doesn’t look any different than before.  All that glaring misinformation is still there!

@saysandra: “I don’t like the personal stuff that happens on their blog. I want my site to be neutral. I hate that personal garbage.”  The moment you choose one side over another you are NOT neutral!

@SAILStaff: “we also witnessed that used gloves are being thrown into a recycling bin, unbagged. Not hygienic.”  Very interesting when you consider that in saysandra’s chart, she claims that SAIL workers were not provided with gloves!

As mentioned earlier in this post, Sandra Der is a “self-styled ‘ninja twitter gal’”.  I have been trying to follow her on Twitter and I must say it’s been a real challenge.  Most of her tweets are retweets!  She seldom expresses an original thought.  Today, I randomly counted 100 of her posts.  Out of those only 19 were not retweets.  She doesn’t appear to be living up to her moniker.  I guess I shouldn’t be surprised…after all, her original blog post is mostly all AUPE rhetoric!
